Altered Confusion Forums > A Changing in Altered Confusion

As some have you have probably noticed Altered Confusion is been mainly my posts of news, comics, reviews, forum subjects, etc. Well as some of you might have been wondering how in the God's name I am still standing after trying to juggle all of that on top of a 9-5 job, well I've been heavily leaning as of late. I have to admit this is definitely my passion but to make a website not just good but great it requires more than just myself to shoulder the weight.

As a result I'm going to have to change the way I'm doing things on the website. I'm not saying that the website is going away, or that you're not going to hear from us again, but at the pace that I've been running things I'm starting to show some fatigue. So what you're going to see is a slight change to the website. Now I'm not completely set in the way that I'm going to do this, but I know that some areas are going to have to get a little less love in order for me to do things, such as continue to renovate my house, clean the house, relax, and of course survive the paying job that I have.

I believe what is going to happen is you're going to see an even further decrease in the amount of reviews that are going to be posted on the site. Trying to keep up with a game or two a week is murder, and to be completely honest I'm starting to forget all the games I've been playing, and I'm not getting that sense of enjoyment unless its over the top good, and that pains me because I love games. Now as a result the games that I end up playing might be old, or they might not be one's that interest the general public, but that's how I'm going to play this. I'm going to play the games that actually interest me for a change instead of trying to play all the popular games that everyone is dying to know about because every other site is doing it.

Now that is not to say that if an Altered Confusion person, other than myself plays one of those games that you won't see a review. I'm sure I can convince them to post their thoughts on the game, but not all the people who contribute to Altered Confusion feel comfortable giving a score, so we might have some N/As that will have to be added to the rating scale.

Now I know that some of you might be interested in the fate of the podcast, well for that I have good news. I have no plans on trying to get rid of that as that is something that is a joint venture, and something that I think everyone real enjoys, as well as the actual podcasters. I'm going to try to get Julie to appear more on the podcast to give it a different view, but we'll have to see how often I can convince her to do so.

Now for the fate of the news that gets updated. As this is something that I can jot quick thoughts about, I'm pretty sure you're not going to see a decrease there. We have to continue to alter gaming confusion in some sense, and since the review section is going to take a hit you're going to see that the news is going to continue at its same pace.

As for the comic. I'm not really sure what people really think of it, but I'm still enjoying it, though I feel like I want to do more random ones, and then the ones that involve the story I might actually try to break out of the set 3 panels. Though that decision isn't set in stone.

Look here's the bottom line this website is my baby, and I know that I can keep everything going but I'm going to die a young man if I try to do so. Now if you the reader of the Altered Confusion website want to pitch in and add your two cents in please drop something off in the forums, I have my e-mail open almost 24/7 and I'll read what you've written, and there is a good chance that I might throw pieces of what you've posted right in the main thread, so what do you have to lose. As for myself I'm going to try to keep doing a lot for the website but I won't keep the pace I've set out with. That is too hard if I'm not going to get the support that I require to actually allow myself to do other projects (such as writing, and creating a Pencil and Paper RPG, learning some map editing skills, and possibly trying to get myself back into the game industry).

Well it would seem that we're changing again. We know that we have a very devoted audience out there but we feel that we could do so much better to accommodate you and others by narrowing our scope a bit. Now what will that mean? Well you're probably going to see the news section become more heavily populated by one subject or another, we're not saying we're cutting out the news that could be found elsewhere, but there's going to be less of it as we try to build some relationships with some companies and start getting the inside scoop instead of the second hand scoop.

The comic is going to stay how it is, we're not going to stop doing that, and we're not going to stop the podcast. We might try some wrinkles in the future, but for now its really only the news section that is going to really see any difference. Then again if the trend on this website is correct the readers are more interested in the comic, and really don't hit most of the stories as they have already found them elsewhere.

I know we have a very shy and perhaps silent audience but please tell us your thoughts, we are very open to listening to our fan base.
