So last week I was at work and get a phone call to do some technology survey about our network/server/client infrastructure. School's out and they claim completing the survey will result in donating money to some charity I'd never heard of so I figure out why the heck not?
It didn't start out bad, but got to the point where I wanted to throw my phone at the person's head. To start, it was obvious they had no real technology knowledge and couldn't expand on questions. Say we have 10 servers, and 8 of those server multiple roles, with the roles not being lesser or greater than other roles. All very necessary. Well, it got to the point where the number of servers I had was less than the number of roles I gave so they wanted to start me back on questions about how many servers we have. Apparently each server can only serve one role- no less, no more. One and one only. This was after being on the phone for 20 minutes. About lost it and finally hang the phone up and needed a nice shot of tequila caffeine to relieve the annoyance.
I'm sure this story was going somewhere deep and profound, a place that Hawk surely knows well. Where that place is, well, hopefully the comic will lead me to that place.
