Okay so the Agency might be kicking the bucket now that the friend's list has been implemented. It may resurrect later, but I'm not promising anything. Now of course that means that I need to start playing again. I was hampered by the Windows 7 RC issue, but now that I have the full version on the PC I need to get back in the rhythm of sitting down in front of it and playing some games.
I think I've come up with some of the issues that might have this game going to the wayside for me. First off is the fact that if you're in a tight bind and people start dropping out of a PvE mission you're screwed, you'll have to quit and retry. Why not let other players hop in there and help the left over players out?
Also I will never get to play AvA because I don't like having to deal with the possibility of having to deal with someone who's main mission in life is to inflate their ego and screw stuff up. Why not then create a different twist to AvA and add in a mercenaries. * randomly queued individuals fighting to free up one of the spots on the map. Sure there's still going to need to be those specific parts to get into the mission, but guerrilla tactics might shake things up a bit.
I really really wanted this game to be the one that finally got me to pay attention to the genre, and want to pour hours upon hours into it, but realistically this is a game that is quickly becoming a game that I'll see on my computer in the future and go "oh wow I haven't play this in ages, I wonder if I can't sneak in a quick game."
So I think that soon you're going to see a review of the game, but its not going to be all that I hoped it would be.
I hear ya yo. It started out strong and fun, but I dunno. It's either repetitive PvE or PvP where you tell within the first 5 minutes who's gonna win half the time. It's not a bad game, I just think it's missing a little magic.
And I agree about the AvA. For players like us, it kills not to be able to play AvA. I could see that being tweaked a year or so down the road after the initial wave of ZOMG NEW GAME had worn off.

Zealeus and I are currently playing and you should be too. Come check us out and join the Altered Co. agency.
