Forums => Games > Torchlight, What was once Mythos

So Torchlight is officially out, which means that I was first in line to download it when it came available. I have to say that I'm already liking the game. I can feel the Mythos in it, but I can also feel the Diablo 2 lurking in it. Now I haven't really gotten too too far, but I can tell you that this game feels solid and will run on a lot of hardware.

Currently I'm playing it on my netbook, and the only complaint I have is the fact that I need to connect a mouse, other than that I'm a go for playing it on that. So we'll see how it goes, but I'm sure that Zealeus will be getting heavy with this one too so there should be plenty to talk about.

I think its become clear that this game is indeed Diablo 2 light. There's the sockets that you can add stones into to further enhance your equipment. There's also the mountain of equipment to trick out your character. There's also the ever spiraling down dungeon to explore. Actually I think its more like Diablo with a sprinkling of Diablo 2.

This game is a great game, I wish there was some co-op love in there, but overall I can't really complain about this game. I do like the fact that after putting a couple of hours into the game you're going to see that your character will have a very distinct and different look from what they started out as.

The best part about this game so far is that I can freely play it on my netbook and it actually runs. Sure it chugs when the avalanche of enemies invades the screen, but overall I can play just like everyone else. Soon, though, I'll have to try it on a real computer and see what that really feels like.
