Rumor: MS Points to Become a Thing of the Past

The rumor that seems to be flying around the big Mega M (Microsoft) these days is centered around either the next generation XBOX (rumored for a October-ish 2013 release) or the fact that Microsoft might be ending their attempt of having their own type of currency for their different systems. The rumor is that at the end of 2012 MS Points may no longer exist, and that at that point it will be direct currency exchange. So instead of trying to figure out how much 1200 Microsoft Points are ($15, by the way), you'll just see a price tag of $15 on downloadable content. 

Personally I think this is something that they should have done a while ago, though with the MS points there is the potential for deals where you can get points for cheaper than you sometimes could, and therefore you saved money, but that's what sales are for, right?
