The webcomic Penny Arcade's creators venture into video games is about to become something that everyone can enjoy. Hothead Games, the company that is making the game, was excited to announce that the Windows, Linux, and Mac versions have gone GOLD which means that the game will be available for download through GreenHouse later this quarter.

Blockbuster to expand focus on videogames

Well it looks like blockbuster sees the impact that videogames are starting to make, and they have decided to expand their focus on not only the rental of videogames, hardware, and accessories, but also the sales of said items. The systems that they are going to be expanding upon are the following: PlayStation3, XBOX360, Nintendo Wii, and the Nintendo DS (Basically all the heavy hitters that are out there, with the exception of the ever still selling PlayStation2).

I personally see this as an "its about time" move on blockbuster's part. I know that they've been trying to go into retail with the videogames, but it always seemed like a half-ass effort. This time it looks like they are willing to throw a good amount of their weight behind it. I do wonder if this is a move to help stablize the rumored turmoil that has been caused by digital downloads, and mailing service such as NetFlicks.

SPORE CREATURE CREATOR

Will Wright's (creator of anything with Sim on it) next huge endeavour, Spore, will be releasing its creature creator on June 17, 2008. This will allow all those who have waited for a couple of years to play around with what you'll be able to do when you are helping create or evolve a species.

I think its an interesting move on their part to release this creature creator before the actual game comes out September 7, 2008. I can see it as a good move seeing as the game has been delayed several times, and some of the audience that it has has since looked elsewhere thinking that this game was starting to look like a Duke Nukem.

Spore is basically a game of evolution, for those out there that don't know about it. You'll be starting off life as a single celled organism and evolving into different forms as time goes on. At first you'll be in charge of just one creature, but as the evolution progresses you'll start to control more creatures. The cool thing about this game is that when civilization starts to take over you can evolve to the point where you can space travel, and if the model that was first presented still holds true you'll be able to see what other players all over the world have evolved.

I personally can't wait for this game to come out, the rumor is that its at least getting released onto PC, MAC, Nintendo DS and I-pod Touch/I-Phone, but hopefully I can lock down some more facts for the readers to get some definites.

So as it stands:

Creature Creator ( June 17, 2008 )
Spore (Actual Game) ( September 7, 2008 )

Taking the geekiness up a Notch

Imagine there you are sitting in front of your computer just chillin' when someone has the nerves to ask you why is it that you are tapping your pants as if you were typing a letter. Well there's a simple answer to their question because the chances are that you probably are writing a letter with your brand new keyboard pants. This interesting piece of clothing also comes with a mouse that you can just tuck away into your back pocket.

I have to say that this is one of those items where at first I think, damn now that is dumb, but when I start to think about it more I'm thinking, damn that's smart and I wouldn't have to worry about getting out one of my old keyboards to do work.

Well if you want to know a little bit more about the latest innovation of technology check out the story.

Will a Digital Copy Blu-ray Disc play nice with your IPod?

As many of you know downloading a movie to your IPod video or Iphone/touch is no big deal through Itunes. Well, lt seems like the boys over at the Blu-ray group are now showing the mobile community a little love through dual disc Blu-ray titles. Over the weekend I picked up Alien Vs Predator Requiem Unrated or as we like to call it in the streets AVP-R. This title is one of the first Blu-ray titles that has been shipped with the dual disc format.

The movie package comes with one Blu-ray HD disc and a DVD disc for video transfers to your Mac, PC, Video IPod, IPhone /Touch and also Sony PSP. Downloading the content to your mobile device or in this case your IPod Touch was a snap.

Video of the movie is DVD quality so it looks quite good on the IPod Touch screen. The movie once loaded to the Touch, even has a chapter guide so you can get right to the action.

I think all Blu-Ray movies should come with a extra DVD for your mobile devices. I mean with the price at or around 30 dollars, you have already paid for it!!
