It's not free. I pay for it with my time via advertisements. The content producers get money back via adds. It's not that it's free, it's that they don't know how to function without relying on their old business model of must charge monetary value for everything.

I agree full heartedly, and yet I think that this is going to drive a good number of viewers away from the site, and you're going to see a Hulu-esque site appear that is going to work on the model of "we'll throw some commercials in, but still give it to you for free".

I've now heard that they aren't going to actually charge on Hulu. Which if that's the truth that is fantastic. Yes they won't be pulling in some big bucks, but they will be keeping most of their user base, and they are making some money off of the ads that are shown during the shows.
Now if only CBS would step up to the plate and actually start showing the Big Bang Theory so that I can watch that on Hulu, then we're seriously talking. Oh and while we're at it all my other favorite shows, which are too many to list.

Huh, interesting about BBT. They show both of my NCIS shows on there.

Now that is some crap. Why the hell do companies think that they can give something away for free for such an extended amount of time and then out of the blue decide that they are going to start charging, starting next year. I'll tell you what, I'll be watching as much as I can until the end of the year, and then I'll never go there again. Look you're getting to show commercials during the show, so its not like the whole model is free and they're not making any money.
Its just tragic that I won't be able to watch those short lived shows that live on on that site, maybe there's an answer to Hulu, and if that's the case someone needs to give me the hook up so that I can continue to keep up with my shows. That's the real reason why Hulu is so powerful because you can take the DVR out of the equation on a lot of shows. It also allows fans that have missed a couple of episodes the ability to catch up and keep up with the show, giving the show a better chance to live. Yes some people will just watch Hulu and not when the show is truly slated, but I think that its an even split.
