Condemned: Criminal Origins Review

Condemned Criminal Origins has to be one of the best horror games I've played ever. Of course to increase the effect I only played this game at night, but doing so allowed me to be scared out of my skin and actually get through the entire game. You play as a FBI Agent trying to solve a series of brutal murders. It is your job to solve the crimes and bring the killer to justice. Now of course half the city has been infected through most of the buildings and locations that you'll have to search through, so you'll have to arm yourself with an interesting assortment of weapons, basically anything from a lead pipe or a locker door to an actual gun.

The graphics are amazing the use of colors and the use of light and dark areas just heighten the need to get through certain areas. The cut scene were also top notch.

The controls for the most part were perfect, there was a want to have very precise controls when using certain weapons, but not enough of one to deter anyone from loving the way the controls feel.

The gameplay makes my skin crawl in excitement. Getting to use the investigation tools made me feel like I was actually doing this, though I wish that there was a bit more to them. Getting to wield several very unique weapons and getting to bash guys heads in was pretty sweet. I really wish that I had been on the look out for the hidden items, I actually found some of them but didn't try to interact with them so I didn't get the achievement unlocked.

With the intense desire of wanting to get through levels before something else came through the wall, or decided to attack you with a 2x4, I have to say that this game is a perfect fit for those willing to get scared a bit. I give this game an 8.4 out of 10.
