Saints Row Review

If ever there was a game that succeeded in stealing a bit of the magic that Grand Theft Auto has caused, it's Saints Row. You'll be playing the part of a new and up and comer to the neighborhood. You'll be given an initiation test and if you succeed you'll be in the gang. It will be your task to help the Saints claim territory and knock the other gangs out of town. You'll be using an assortment of weapons and driving any car you can lay your hands on. Sadly try as I might I was never able to personally finish the whole game. I did have a lot of fun dealing with the police, and using some of the weapons I had at my disposal.

The graphics look good, probably not the most stunning thing I've seen on the 360, but I can't really complain. The characters and car models are pretty sharp. I also like the different looks of the areas, you have more of the downtown neighborhood feel, the ritzy part of town, the skyscrapers, and also a little bit of suburbia.

The controls as you might expect take a bit of time to get use to but after you've got it down, you can be one smooth operator, be it in the car or wrecking havoc on some city block.

The gameplay is fairly easy to spot, you have your missions that are all over the town, you could be picking up "professional ladies" for a client, you could be racing around the city, or you could just be going to silence certain individuals that have gotten in your way. My all-time favorite though is the medical missions where you have to get the crap kicked out of you and you have to reach a certain amount in an allotted amount of time.

8.1 out of 10
