Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 Review

Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee 2 will find you right back on some familiar courses and then some not so familiar courses as you will yet again pick up the clubs and hit the tee box. This is the sequal to the game that showed up on the PSP, and this too can be found on the PSP.
The graphics are almost identical to the first game, but there are certain small tweaks to the interface and the dressing room. The biggest change is you know have a blond executive looking person giving you helpful tips on the load screens, and you'll also have her constantly waving at you on the main menu.
The controls haven't changed, and I can't blame them for not changing. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. There is move of a use for the triangle button this time around though as you can view the course like before, but this time you can also get close to hidden items on the course which will unlock them for your character for later use. There are also characters that if you get close enough to them you can interact with, but I really haven't had all that much success in that arena.
One change to game play that I don't like is the fact that the game is structured this time around where you're going to have to use more than one character. The reason for this is that once you obtain new clubs only that level of player can use those clubs. So that Novice/beginner player that you selected and have started to groom is going to be left behind once you start getting into the intermediate matches and above. The rewards you get for playing a character over and over again like the first game allows you to gain extra power shots and so other special abilities, but I really don't use any of them other than the power shot if I'm in desperate need to hit the ball 80 yards further than my opponent.
I'd say that this game is a worthy sequel, and they have put more emphasis on the multiplayer aspect, but I just think that somethings like the players shouldn't have been touched that much and as a result I feel like the game improved and then took some steps back. I give this game an 8.4 out of 10
