Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Review

I loved Harry Potter 6: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.  The graphic knocked the socks off any of the preview HP games and the little mishaps and mistakes made on the HP5 game were completely taken care of.  No more getting stuck because you couldn't get other character out of the way when you were trying to walk through a door.  It was a little more realistic- the characters you ran into would yell ow and you shoved them out of the way.  This game was definitely more complex.  You had potion assignments, dueling club, and as you ran from assignment to assignment you collected Hogwarts Crests.  The more crests you found the more powerful your spells, the tougher you were in duels, etc.

The game definitely followed the movie and highlighted the right parts.  Like the return of quidditch for example .  Actually playing quidditch was my least favorite part of the game, but not because it was badly done but because it was downright hard!  You had to follow the snitch as it weaved and darted through the air!  You would fly through green stars all over the field and sky to get your speed enhanced to catch the snitch.  If you missed too many stars they would turn yellow and then red and if they turned red you were in serious trouble!  Eventually you would lose the snitch and have to play the match again.  My heart certainly speed up during quiddtich because hand-eye coordination is not my strong suite!

I really enjoyed the duels.  You dueled people from all over Hogwarts: Ravenclaws, Malfoy, Crab, Goyle, and certain death eaters as well.  It was challenging but fun!

Overall this game is fantastic. I had so much fun playing through the story and cannot wait for the next installment to come out!

Score 8.2 out of 10
