Card Ninja Review

Card Ninja is a speed game of sorts for the Apple i-phone/i-pod touch. You will be challenged to flick a stack of cards to the correct places on the screen within a certain time. After each round the game changes a bit, if you keep up the breakneck speed to compete you'll start going up in rank, if you don't well then your rank isn't going to be so hot.

Graphically there's not a lot to this game. You have what looks like a chopping block, which is where the stack of cards will appear. You have the cards, and they'll come with different images and colors (which is probably what you'll be trying to match, just a hint). There will be clearly marked targets to where you'll want to flick the cards.

The menu music feels like it came right out of a martial arts movie. Each card has its own unique sounds to go with it, I have to say that there are some cards that will get on your nerves, and there's no music during actual gameplay so this might be a safe game to listen to music during (sadly you're not going to be able to listen to your music on the same device).

The controls for this game are just simply flicking across the screen. There's nothing really tricky about that.

So the game is you flicking cards at the designated targets. The first couple levels are fun and addictive, but the further you get in the game the more strange cards start appearing. I have to say I have no idea what I'm suppose to do with these cards. All I know is that I'm losing cards trying to throw them away. If you flick the cards to the wrong place, you'll get a penalty. Finish with time on the clock and you'll gain that many more cards to play with in the next round. It is nice that after levels there is a quit and save feature so that if you want to come back later, you'll be able to resume where you left off.

This is a good pick up for $0.99. I really wish there was some instructions for this game. This game is one of those that you're going to have to do some trial and error on for a bit to get a hang of, but this game will help pass the time. Card Ninja gets a 7.8 out of 10.
