Apple I-Touch: Monster Dash Review

Monster Dash is a game by the development studio HalfBrick. In this game you're playing what can only be described as a monster hunter who is trying to run through several different locations. You'll face off against mummies, demons, vampires, and zombies, all while in a constant sprint.

The graphics in this game look like a very well made Flash game, there's no visual lag as your character traverses the levels, and everything seems to have its own feel to it. I do like the fact that there are different locations that you'll be running through.

Sounds match the levels, that's the best way to put it, when you enter a level you're going to get to hear music that seems to fit the locale.

The controls are really easy to pick up, and thankfully for a touch-screen game responsive. You'll either be hitting the jump button or the weapon button. You're automatically running so you don't have to fact that into the equation.

There's not a lot to this game in terms of story, its all about seeing how long you can last by jumping the gaps, killing the monsters, surviving the level, and keeping an eye out for extra hearts and weapons. I have to say that the motorcycle is by far my favorite little extra that allows you to not have to watch out for enemies or obstacles. There are also other weapons and what not that you can pick up, but all except for your trusty shotgun have a limited amount of ammo. After 1000 points worth of distance in a level you get magically transported to a different level. I have to say that there's something addictive about this game. There's no telling what your starting level will be, as well as the level layout. You're going to have to keep on your toes for this game, but its rewarding when you're able to do so.

This might be one of the few true steals that you can get on the Apple App store, so if you think that this game is up your alley, then I'd say pick it up now. This game gets a 8.9 out of 10.
