Ninja Jump Deluxe Review

Ninja Jump Deluxe is a game from Backflip Studios in which you will be playing the part of a ninja who is running up a wall trying to dodge and take out all that stands in your path. You'll have a couple of locales to keep things interesting such as a castle theme, pirate theme, jungle theme, and the classic theme.

Graphically this game looks sharp. The levels are going to be simple, but the art is well done, and the different enemies that you interact with animate smoothly in the levels.

One thing I've got to applaud this studio for is the sounds. They made sure that if you chose the pirate theme you're going to have a pirate experience, and it goes the same for all the other themes. Sure the sound of the ninja jumping back and forth with that little grunt might start to get old, but if it does that means that you are doing really well.

The controls for the game are really simple since this game does reside on the Apple iPod Touch/iPhone. You're going to be tapping the screen when you want to switch what side you are on. Now if you time it right you can defeat the obstacles and enemies that stand in your way.

This isn't the most complicated game, and there's no story to it, but what there is is an environment that screams for you to try again and try to beat your score. The longer you last in a level the higher you get, and the higher you get the higher your score. One of the best ways to insure that you're going to get a high score is by trying to destroy enemies or obstacles in pairs of three. For example if you take the Classic theme, and you jump just in time to slice three "ninja foxes" in a row you're character will briefly hop back and forth, invincible, and get you through more of the level. Now one of the small things that most might not notice, but I do enjoy is the fact that after you've lost and you exit to the main menu you have a back shot of the last theme you played which kind of gives the game a fresh look in my opinion.

This might not be a game that will keep you occupied for hours, but I don't think it was meant to be. What this game will give you is a quick little spurt of challenge and timing that feels good, and leaves you wanting to play again after its ended. If you haven't already you've got to check out this game on in the Apple App Store. This game gets an 8.8 out of 10.
