You know what, I think I'm over the whole got to get the highest ranking for the webcomic. I know that there are people out there that read it, so that's enough for me. Sure it would be amazingly awesome if I could get my comic thrusted into the pantheon of the webcomic gods, but lets be honest they've been at this game a lot longer than I, and I have to earn that right. If I stick with it and have the strip evolve in the future then maybe I can gain a seat in that highly coveted space.
I'm not exactly sure how some of these guys actually work seeing as when I post comics the ranking gets 3 times worse. I'll be sitting at 549 and then post a comic to discover my comic is auto-magically sitting at 1178. As for the other ranking that I'm pretty sure Altered Confusion is sitting at 5000+, that's because I've stopped logging into my work computer, and then my home computer (2 different networks) and then casting my vote for the comic.
I'm sure that there are those out there that threw in a vote once in a blue moon, but that popularity contest based off of voting is going to always leave this comic out in the cold seeing as I'm pretty sure the readers just want to see the comic, and then go on about their day.
I do find asking myself why do I even have these ranking things up, and for one of them the excuse is that it updates non-readers to the updates, the other ranking one I really have no reason but to have another thing with shiny numbers on it.
