This Bed We Made Review

It’s just another normal day for the Clarington Hotel’s maid, Sophie, that is until she goes to clean room 505, that is when things go completely sideways. In This Bed We Made you will take control of Sophie, a maid who lives for celebrity and gossip, and peeking around at guests’ belongings while she cleans their rooms. Something about the guest in room 505 sets you on edge, but as you try to figure out what their deal is a larger mystery opens up.

This isn’t that long of a game, but it is filled with decisions that you will have to make in order to advance the story. Some of the decisions can be as simple as deciding to throw something away, while other decisions will lead you down a path of lies. If it’s the lies that you choose just be careful not to trip up and be caught in that lie. Your character’s normal duties revolve around the 5th floor of the hotel, and so you’re going to be going in and out of many of the 5th floor rooms either cleaning, or investigating. There’s more going on than at first glance, and there are secrets to be revealed, and some of them don’t even deal with the guests.

This is a game that I don’t know if everyone is going to want to play. The subject matter, at the core of the game, isn’t for everyone, and I wish I could explain it more but that would give away a huge twist in the story, so I must refrain from doing so. What I can tell you is that the game is set in the 1950s, and there are scandalous things happening. This game also only took me just over 3 hours to beat, so it's not all that long, and the game’s wrap up/climax is super rushed in comparison to the pace of the rest of the game, which makes this game a bit of a disappointment. Having said that I did enjoy the game, until the end, where I apparently made almost all the wrong decisions and the ending left me feeling really depressed.

There was one other thing about the game that bugged me, though, that was the fact that everyone looked like a recently deceased person. I’m thinking it was a graphics card issue, at least I hope so because it was very unnerving to have to see characters eyes and pallid skin throughout the game.
