Voodoo Detective Review

In the small island town of New Ginen lives a detective starving for a new case. This detective isn’t your average PI (Private Investigator) this one is well versed in all things voodoo. It seems that work has dried up and his landlord is going to evict him when a lady with a mysterious story shows up and gives the player their story in Voodoo Detective

In this point-click adventure you’re going to have to dig deep into not only the unbelievable story that you are given, but you’ll also have to sift through the secrets and lies that cloud the very past of the entire island. You’ll get to interact with a wide variety of characters from the man who seems to own most of the island all the way to the Voodoo Detective’s brother. Each character will have something for you to do, if you complete their request your adventure can continue.

I have to say that the story does have its twists and turns, and some of the plot points are a little bit out there, but overall it's a solid story that has a beginning, middle, and end. The story does have a satisfying wrap up, or maybe the better way of putting it is that it CAN have a, in my opinion, satisfying ending. You see there’s a choice to be made right at the end of the game, I won’t tell you what it is, of course because SPOILER, but in my humble opinion there’s a right and a wrong choice.

I would be very interested to see what else this developer has to offer. I liked the game, it’s probably not for everyone, but I think that if you’re looking for a solid point-click adventure game with Voodoo influences, this is a game you’re going to be interested in. Oh I do have one recommendation when you play the game, I’m sure most of you will figure this out, but if you want to quickly get through areas where you’re just trying to get to another area, double clicking is your friend.
